His Hands & Feet:

Our Heart for Giving

The Heart Behind It All

Picture this: A small soap studio where every bar crafted carries not just the scent of sunflowers and calendula, but the weight of purpose. Where each purchase becomes a thread in a larger tapestry of community care, weaving together stories of hope, healing, and transformation.

At SunStar Soapery, giving back isn't an afterthought—it's woven into the very fabric of who we are. We are told to help those around us and be a light for His ways. This isn't charity as obligation—it's obedience as joy. It's the understanding that we are blessed to be a blessing, that our small soap business can be an instrument of His love.

When you choose SunStar Soapery, you're not just choosing gentle skincare—you're choosing to be part of God's work in the world, one bar of soap at a time.

Our Giving Philosophy

Every purchase you make becomes a prayer in action, a way of saying "yes" to God's call to care for others. Your trust in our gentle skincare becomes support for His work in the world—whether that's healing broken hearts across the globe, caring for abandoned animals, nurturing children in need, or rebuilding lives after disaster.

We believe that true beauty extends far beyond what we see in the mirror to encompass how we reflect His heart to the world. Each partnership we've chosen reflects not just business values, but heart values—the places where God has stirred our spirits and called us to serve.

Where Your Purchase Makes a Difference

Dominican Republic Missions: Where Hearts Are Changed

The Dominican Republic holds a piece of my heart that will never return—and I wouldn't want it to. It was there, on my first missions trip, that I learned the profound truth that when we go to serve others, God changes us just as much as He uses us to bless those we serve.

When I can't go myself, sponsoring others to answer that same call becomes a sacred privilege. Every dollar we contribute doesn't just support the people who will be served—it supports the transformation that happens in the hearts of those who go. It's investing in the beautiful cycle of how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things, how He takes willing hands and makes them instruments of His love.

There's something powerful about knowing that our small soap business can help send someone into that life-changing experience, where they'll discover that serving others is really about letting God serve through you.

Forsyth Humane Society: Caring for the Lost and Abandoned

My heart breaks for the lost and abandoned animals in our community. I can't adopt them all—though my heart wishes I could—but I can find ways to help them through the dedicated people at Forsyth Humane Society.

There's something beautiful about the parallel between what they do and what we do. They believe every animal deserves gentle care, patient love, and a safe place to heal. We believe every person deserves skincare that treats them with the same tenderness. Both require seeing worth in what others might overlook, both require consistency and compassion, and both reflect God's heart for the vulnerable.

When we set up our booth at their events throughout the year, we're not just selling soap—we're standing alongside people who understand that caring for God's creatures is a calling, not just a job.

Old School Elementary: Investing in His Kingdom

These children are the future of our community, but they're also living in some of the poorest parts of it right now. When God stirred my heart to help build a medical facility to provide free healthcare for these students, it felt like the perfect intersection of my calling—both as a business owner and as someone who works in healthcare during the week.

These aren't just statistics or charity cases. These are children made in God's image, deserving of care, opportunity, and the chance to thrive. When we invest in their health and education, we're investing in His kingdom. We're planting seeds in young hearts that may one day grow into the leaders, servants, and light-bearers our community needs.

Western North Carolina: Keeping Our Promise

When Hurricane Helene devastated the mountains just hours from our home in 2024, we couldn't just watch from a distance. We bought bottled water to send with our church's mission team. We donated to help one family rebuild their home. But more than that, we made a promise—not to forget when the cameras left and the headlines moved on.

These people still need help. The rebuilding continues long after the world's attention has shifted elsewhere. We are called to place our faith in God and be His hands and feet, not just in the dramatic moments of crisis, but in the quiet, ongoing work of restoration.

This is what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves—to remember that "neighbor" extends beyond our immediate community to anyone God places in our path to serve.

Piedmont Triad HOPE Gala: Fighting for a Future Without Type 1 Diabetes

Sometimes God calls us to serve through the relationships He places in our lives. When dear friends asked if we would support the Piedmont Triad HOPE Gala for Breakthrough T1D—their teenage son lives with type 1 diabetes—our answer was a resounding yes. Not because we had to, but because we get to. Because when someone you care about is fighting a battle, you don't hesitate to stand with them.

When we contribute to this gala, we're not just donating soap—we're investing in hope for our friends and countless other families. We're supporting the brilliant researchers, dedicated doctors, and tireless advocates who refuse to accept "manageable" when "curable" might be possible. We're standing with parents who dream of their children going to college without worrying about insulin supplies, about families who could sleep through the night without alarm clocks set for blood sugar checks.

It's the same spirit that drives everything we do—the belief that when someone we care about is fighting a battle, we show up. When friends need support for healing, we extend our hands. When breakthrough is possible for people we love, faith responds with resources and prayer.

The Ripple Effect

Every bar of soap you choose creates ripples that extend far beyond our small studio. Your trust in our products becomes support for abandoned animals finding safety. Your investment in gentle skincare becomes aid for storm-ravaged communities. Your choice to shop small becomes funding for local education, global missions, and medical breakthroughs.

This isn't just good business—it's kingdom work. It's the beautiful truth that when we align our commerce with our calling, ordinary transactions become extraordinary opportunities to love our neighbors, serve our community, and be His hands and feet in a world that desperately needs both healing and hope.

Looking Forward

Our giving journey is far from over. We're always listening for where God calls us next, always watching for the needs He places before us, always ready to say "yes" when He stirs our hearts toward service. This isn't a finished story—it's an ongoing adventure in obedience, a continuous opportunity to let our business be a blessing.

If you know of a cause that aligns with our heart for gentle care, community support, and kingdom work, we'd love to hear about it. Because the most beautiful partnerships often begin with a simple conversation and a shared burden for making the world a little more like heaven.

Shop with Purpose

When you choose SunStar Soapery, you're choosing more than beautiful skincare—you're choosing to be part of something bigger. Every purchase becomes a prayer in action, every product becomes a pathway to purpose, every transaction becomes a testimony to what happens when business serves not just customers, but calling.
