Dominican Republic Missions: Where Hearts Are ChangedThe Dominican Republic holds a piece of my heart that will never return, and I would not want it to. It was there, on my first missions trip two years ago, that I learned a profound truth: when we go to serve others, God changes us just as much as He uses us to bless those we serve.
This past summer, that truth came full circle. Lil SunStar, my creative spark, the girl who started this whole journey with me at a kitchen table, went on her first solo mission trip to the Dominican Republic. She came home different. Not in the way the world changes you, but in the way God does, quietly, deeply, in the places only He can reach. Watching my daughter carry that same calling into her own hands was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed as a mother.

Forsyth Humane Society: Caring for the Lost and AbandonedMy heart breaks for the lost and abandoned animals in our community. I cannot adopt them all, though my heart wishes I could, but I can find ways to help them through the dedicated people at Forsyth Humane Society.
There is something beautiful about the parallel between what they do and what we do. They believe every animal deserves gentle care, patient love, and a safe place to heal. We believe every person deserves skincare that treats them with the same tenderness. Both require seeing worth in what others might overlook. Both require consistency and compassion. Both reflect God's heart for the vulnerable.
When we set up our booth at their events throughout the year, we are not just selling soap. We are standing alongside people who understand that caring for God's creatures is a calling, not just a job.
Old School Elementary: Investing in His KingdomThese children are the future of our community, but they are also living in some of the poorest parts of it right now. When God stirred my heart to help build a medical facility to provide free healthcare for these students, it felt like the perfect intersection of my calling, both as a business owner and as someone who works in healthcare during the week.
These are not statistics or charity cases. These are children made in God's image, deserving of care, opportunity, and the chance to thrive. When we invest in their health and education, we are investing in His kingdom. We are planting seeds in young hearts that may one day grow into the leaders, servants, and light-bearers our community needs.
Western North Carolina: Keeping Our PromiseWhen Hurricane Helene devastated the mountains just hours from our home in 2024, we could not just watch from a distance. We bought bottled water to send with our church's mission team. We donated to help one family rebuild their home. But more than that, we made a promise: not to forget when the cameras left and the headlines moved on.
These people still need help. The rebuilding continues long after the world's attention has shifted elsewhere. We are called to place our faith in God and be His hands and feet, not just in the dramatic moments of crisis, but in the quiet, ongoing work of restoration.
This is what it means to love our neighbors as ourselves. "Neighbor" extends beyond our immediate community to anyone God places in our path to serve.
Piedmont Triad HOPE Gala: Fighting for a Future Without Type 1 DiabetesSometimes God calls us to serve through the relationships He places in our lives. When dear friends asked if we would support the Piedmont Triad HOPE Gala for Breakthrough T1D, their teenage son lives with type 1 diabetes, our answer was a resounding yes. Not because we had to, but because we get to.
When we contribute to this gala, we are investing in hope for our friends and countless other families. We are supporting the researchers, doctors, and advocates who refuse to accept "manageable" when "curable" might be possible. We are standing with parents who dream of their children going to college without worrying about insulin supplies, with families who could sleep through the night without alarm clocks set for blood sugar checks.
