The Light That Started It All

Some of the most beautiful journeys begin with the smallest spark of love.

Mine began at a kitchen table with my daughter—my creative lil SunStar—who had the sweetest idea: "Mommy, let's make something I can share with my friends."

We decided on soap. Simple bars made with our own hands, infused with laughter and the kind of unhurried joy that only comes when you're creating something together. What I didn't know then was that this tender moment would become the foundation of everything we are today.

When Skin Finds Its Home

The first time I used our homemade soap, something shifted. My sensitive skin—skin that had struggled for years to find products that truly loved it back—felt different. Softer. Calmer. Seen.

That's when I understood: this wasn't just about making soap. This was about creating skincare that begins with the question, "Will this be gentle enough for the skin that needs tenderness most?"

Every formula since has started there—with sensitive skin first, not as an afterthought.

From Kitchen Table to Community

For a year, we shared our creations with friends and family, each bar carrying prayers of gratitude and hope. But my heart kept whispering that this gift was meant to reach beyond our circle. With trembling hands and a faithful heart, I took that leap—sharing our handmade love with a community I didn't yet know but already cherished.

A Family Woven Into Every Bar and Formulation

This has always been a family story. Mr. SunStar, my steadfast anchor, names each product with thoughtful care and labels every bottle with love. Little SunStar brings her boundless creativity to our studio, helping package orders and adding her own spark of joy to everything we touch. And Brother SunStar? He's my trusted tester for all our men's products—making sure every beard oil, every masculine soap meets the standard of someone who truly knows what works.

Each soap, each butter, each gentle formula is blessed by more than just my hands—it's blessed by the hearts of the people who believe in this calling alongside me.

Growing Into Our Purpose

As SunStar Soapery has grown, so has my understanding of what we're truly called to create. What began as simple soap has blossomed into a full line of skincare—body butters that melt like whispered prayers, sugar scrubs that polish with kindness, lip balms that heal, facial bars that honor, and magnesium creams that transform ordinary moments into sacred ones.

But the heart remains unchanged: everything we make is crafted for sensitive skin first, with whole-plant ingredients that honor both the earth and the bodies we're blessed to call home.
